Who we are
My name is Sebastian Bayter, I’m the CEO and founder of Prolego.
I would like to take this opportunity to tell you a little about me and us as a company so you can decide whether or not we are the right fit for your company.
I was born in Colombia, in a family of four, my parents and my little sister. I finished high school and then went to Boston, MA, to pursue my education in Computer Information Systems at Suffolk University. I had the opportunity to live there for 5 years where I gained vast experience working in a financial services company as a developer. Afterward, I moved back to Colombia and got my MBA at EAFIT, one of the most prestigious universities in the country, while starting Prolego.
This started 15 years with one sole purpose in my mind, to provide products and services to startups and small businesses for a fair price. We started as a custom-made software company where we had the opportunity to develop and integrate a great variety of applications and systems in several industries. As the web kept rising up and the importance to have online an presence became crucial to the success of a company, we started to reduce custom-made apps and started focusing more of custom-made websites optimized for digital marketing.
After a year or two of actively listening to our customers, we started another company called Prolego Hosting with the idea of offering our clients a complete package and a centralized service provider where they would only need to contact a single company, or group, to satisfy their needs and support their solutions. This led to Prolego Hosting becoming a Google Partner and Microsoft Partner in the mailing solutions, Google Workspace and Office 365.
These went for a few more years before we decided it was time to transform and started a road to a service-focus company. Our first bet, back in 2010, was to develop an invoicing system, called incloud, that would be focused in providing a low-cost SaaS service for small companies. This product has had great success and has become a product that not only offers invoicing but also is an ally to its users with other modules such as quoting, inventory, audience management, and SMS campaigns.
To make a long story short, after the success incloud had using mostly digital tactics and strategies, the expertise we developed in the following years, and the continued requests from customers to offer a new service, we decided it was time to offer digital marketing as a professional service.
Ever since, we have stopped offering custom-made web apps and switch to a company that focuses on bringing your company alive in the digital world, offering domains, hosting, web design & development, automation, integrations, social media marketing, paid search marketing, and search engine optimization (SEO).
